DC, SSP Udhampur openly supporting BJP in the District: Harsh
11/25/2018 10:25:08 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 25: Making a mockery of the Election process, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Udhampur were openly supporting the BJP sponsored candidates in the Panchayats in the District, said Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister.
Addressing media persons, he said that while the candidates of Panthers Party were being victimized, harassed and intimidated the candidates put up by the BJP were being promoted and patronized by the District Administration in blatant defiance of the service laws and electoral conduct rules.
Speaking to media persons, he pointed out that several lower rung employees of the District were being harassed and attached by the biased and hostile administration only for the reason that they had refused to oblige the BJP candidates in the elections.
And contrarily, several employees and officers who were openly campaigning for the saffron party were given open space with none to take cognizance of the complaints against them. He said that not only the civil but police officials seemed to have been specifically deputed to work in furtherance of the political interests of the BJP sponsored Sarpanches and Panches candidates. Making particular mention of BDO Majalta, Mr. Singh said that dozens of complaints against him and his subordinates had been thrown into the dustbin at the behest of the DC Udhampur who was patronizing these corrupt biased officers in view of hostilities nursed by him against Panthers Party. Likewise, the complaints against one Dy. SP had also been disregarded with the higher authorities providing him all shelter and patronage so as to promote a particular political party.
He further said that the Ex-MLA Ramnagar of BJP had been provided with more than a dozen PSOs and guards from the District Police lines and other Police Stations despite he being entitled to only one Police PSO. And these Policemen were being used by him for electioneering in blatant defiance of the Election norms and procedures with complaints against these policemen also having been disregarded by SSP Udhampur. He said that DC and SSP Udhampur were acting against NPP in view of several complaints of omissions and commissions and other irregularities lodged against them by Panthers Party leaders at various forums. He appealed the Chief Electoral officer to act immediately against such officers or so that sanctity of elections was upheld.
Mr. Gagan Pratap Singh State Secretary JKNPP was also present in the press conference.
