Early Times Report
KUPWARA, Nov 25: Majority of the far flung areas of this north Kashmir district are either without basic facilities or the funds that were allocated for them have not been utilized by the concerned agencies so for and with the result people are anguish over the approach of the government for not giving them proper shares in the development.
Sources while talking to early times said that, on daily basis the Government of India (GOI) announces that many centrally sponsored schemes have been launched for the betterment of rural masses.
Some schemes are visible, but most of them were not made public or where not practically implemented on the ground, due to which the general public that are living in far flung areas of border districts are not getting any benefit of them, said sources.
Sources said that, there are various far flung villages here in Karnah thesil of Kupwara district that are without basic facilities, and need of the hour was to give due consideration to their problems, otherwise they feel that they are ignored from developmental works.
There is lack of information, roads are in depilated conditions, many schools have not sufficient staff to meet the challenges, there is no proper heating arrangements for the small kids as the people that are living in higher reaches are living miserable life, sources informed.
The inhabitants of Bijdhara, Nowangabra, Charkari, Hajinar, Badwan, Dragar and Kandi belt areas of Karnah sans medical facilities, during these cold months, there is no proper arrangements of rations, electricity and other necessities of life, adding some people have already migrated to the other parts of Kashmir valley.
Locals said that there is no availability of twenty four hours transport facility from Kupwara town like other areas in the district and there is also a poor telecommunication connectivity, said local residents of these areas.
The governor administration is determined to provide all basic facilities to the people of all the three regions preferably people living in far off and remote areas of the state.
Bashir Ahmad Khan, a local resident of Karnah said that we people need infrastructure like roads, electricity, drinking water, schools, sub health centers, and other facilities so that people will not feel isolated from rest of the parts of our state.
They have appealed the governor to take concrete initiatives for improvement and up gradation of basic facilities in these areas which are lacking these basic facilities.
