Politicians have become opponents of Governor, Malik
11/25/2018 11:07:53 PM
Almost all political parties have
become opponents of Governor, S.P.Mailk, for dissolving the Assembly which had been kept on animated suspensions since the Imposition of Governor's rule. Earlier these very parties were critical of the Governor for having not dissolved the House which would be entailed with fear of Horse trading. Some prominent politicians used to berate Governor for not dissolving the House which had entitled members of monthly salary and other perks which could have been saved. And actually the These very politicians have ganged up against the Governor Scare caused by PDP to forge grand alliance for Govt. formation led to dissolution of Assembly Fear of PDP claiming the support of the Congress and the NC to form the Government has forced Governor, S.P. Malik, to dissolve the Assembly setting the stage for the imposition of President's rule.
The PDP had claimed that it was the largest single group in the Assembly with 29 members and the support from the NC, with 12 members, and the Congress, with 15 members, had opened the doors for the grand alliance to be invited to form the Government. Though Muzaffar Hussain Baig, senior PDP leader and MP, had announced to extend support to Sajjad Lone but it had not rocked the boat of the PDP. But what has seemingly prompted the Governor to dissolve the House is is fears that in the near future the state would have engulfed with new political following the reports on horse trading. Since the House was not dissolved when the state was placed under the Governor's rule was a stap on the part of the BJP to form the Government despite the fact that it had agreed to allow a Kashmiri Sajjad Lone to be the Chief Minister. When the BJP had failed to form the Government and the PDP was planning to forge a grand alliance for the formation of the coalition Government a word was sent from the centre to Malik to dissolve the House which would not allow any opponent to BJP to form the Government.
Whatever may be the reason for the dissolution of the Assembly but according to Governor its has been done in the interest of people of the state..The monthly pay and perks given to MLAs could have been utilized for development work. The sum could have been utilized for keeping the resources of the state in tact. And those politicians who were demanding dissolution of the House were critical of the Governor because he took a step in the interests of people of the state.
