Jammu, Dec 4: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER, organized Annual Sports Day for its preschool Humming Buds, the Inclusive School and its Primary wing at the B.C. Road campus. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation by students from classes O level to VI. Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER was the Chief Guest. Rupa Gupta, Joint Director was the Guest of Honor. Other dignitaries present were P.K. Srivastava, Principal, J.K Dhiman, Vice- Principal, Dr. Rohnika Sharma HOD B.Ed. Department, Maneka Khanna, Incharge Humming Buds, Rita Khanna, Incharge Residency Road and Chanda Mahajan, Manager Academics Primary wing.
The programme commenced with the lightning of the torch by Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER who also declared the sports meet open. A plethora of fun-filled athletic events were organized wherein the young athletes marveled one and all with their breath taking speed, focus and concentration. Different races were conducted like flag race, treasure hunt, dress me up, hula hoop, balancing race, exchange the ball, roll the ball with hockey, sack race and hurdle race to name a few.
The meet marked the participation by students of special school who took part with great zeal and gusto. Dr. Adit Gupta appreciated the students for taking part in various activities and contented that such events are always momentous for children. He also stressed that sports inculcate discipline and focus in students which helps them to become self-confident. |
