Rajasthan cannot be given to people out on bail: PM Modi hits out at Rahul, Sonia Gandhi
12/5/2018 1:15:46 PM
JAIPUR: The Congress party is angry because a chaiwala (tea-seller) took the Gandhi family to court, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the last date of campaigning in the poll-bound Rajasthan.

“Rajasthan cannot be given to people on bail,” said PM Modi in a reference to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi while addressing a massive rally in Sumerpur town of Rajasthan's Pali district on Wednesday.

"Congress which created so many divisions in society in the last 70 years, how can they work in the interest of the people. First, give an account of these 70 years, then ask about 4.5 years from us,” he said. “The Congress has sinned. It can't do good for public anymore.”

“I can say this with confidence. Rajasthan's people have decided that BJP will win this election,” he said, adding, “I don't just have to win Rajasthan, I have to win every polling booth in Rajasthan.”

The Prime Minister said that the Congress party is trying to find possible logic so that “the responsibility of defeat does not lie on naamdar's shoulders.”

“I wasn’t born with a gold spoon. I’ve seen hard times in my life. I’m one of you people,” said the Prime Minister.

Referring to P Chidambaram and son Karti Chidambaram, Modi claimed that his fight against corruption brought the Congress leaders down. “They go to courts and plead for new date of hearing to avoid arrest.”

Modi will later address another rally in Dausa district, a BJP spokesperson said in a statement.

Rajasthan will go to polls on Friday. The counting of votes will be held on December 11. The BJP is eyeing a second consecutive term in the state.
