PDP MLC Firdous Tak raises question on undue delay in disclosing names behind Parihar brothers' killing
12/14/2018 9:54:33 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: A senior People Democratic Party leader and member of legislative council (MLC) Firdous Ahmad Tak said more than one month has passed since the killing of Anil Parihar and his brother in Kishtwar and till date the name of their killers have not put on the public platform.
He added that people of Kishtwar have always said that it was not just the death of Anil Parihar it was death of those who believed in peace and harmony. People from the both community came forward to protest and seek probe in their killings. State administration assured that those who behind the killing will be traced and their names will be put on the public platform.
Tak said "Different agencies reached there and more than 150 people were arrested and then governor said that killers have been identified, if that is the case why have not their name put forward to the public. Who provided information to governor regarding the name behind the killings.
He further said that Chenab valley has been declared militancy free area fifteen years back but in the shadow of investigation of killing, the particular community is being targeted and is being cornered and the whole focus is on the revival of militancy in the area. The reason behind reviving the militancy is neither skipped from you nor from me.
Tak said "Kishtwar has been become a favorite hub for a particular group. If you look a year before every election that took place in recent times, a communal fight emerged between two communities and now parliament and state elections are coming and tension is being created in the area".
Now talks are going regarding bringing Special Operation Group and to create bunkers in Chenab Valley. Who are these people who want all this to happen. People of Chenab Valley are well aware about this and we have made it very clear that nothing will be done against the peace and harmony of people.
Also I request to the governance of the state the police in the area have created atmosphere of fear. Police arrest some people are and put behind the bar for few days and then are set free. Not only this some girls have also been arrested and were set free after many days, said Firdous.
He added that we know about certain sections, how they work and how they want to review the counter militant insurgency group Ikhwan. And we know how former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti stopped all this from happening. History has witnessed how fake militants were made and how state sponsored militancy was made in the same area.
"I want to request the state and centre governance that do not play with the fire and if things do not get well than people will be left with no option than to come on streets and protest". On being asked the statement Tak had made earlier he said that he stands by the words he has used in the past and will stand by it.
