Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 14: In what could be termed as poor planning of school education department as hundreds of non-teaching posts advertised under SSA hang in balance due to merger of scheme into Samagra. Moreover, the officials of the department concerned have failed to start further process of recruitment despite lapse of one and half years of advertisement of these posts.
Sources in department concerned informed Early Times that one and a half year ago the department under the scheme had invited applications for various posts but astoundingly the official has forgotten to start further process of recruitment. "Under the scheme the government had sanctioned around 271 posts including Junior Engineer, Data Entry operator, computer Assistant, Orderly/Chowkidar, Resource Teachers, Research Assistant, Assistant Programmer, Assistant Engineer, Auditor, Senior Auditor, Programer, Accounts Clerks and Programme officer", sources said, adding that all these posts were distributed by SSA district wise across state.
Thousands of professional educated unemployed youth applied for these posts but so far the officials fail to start the process of recruitment. Sources further said that after year lapse of advertisement many aspirants approach regional office regarding further recruitment process, the officials available in the office replied within days the schedule of written test for these posts would be announced but till date nothing has done at ground. "Despite clear direction of government to all head of government departments to speed up the process to hire people for state government services but astoundingly the school education department officials had ignored reason best known to higher authority", sources said, added that the central Sponsored Scheme SSA has various goals regarding to promote school education sector of state including universal access and retention, bridging gender & social category gaps in education and enhancement of learning levels of children but poor performance in state , compels union government to merge the scheme into Samagra. Repeated calls to State Project Director Samagra, Tufail Matto was not available for comments.
