Farmers Training programme concludes at Krishi Bhawan Jammu

Jammu, Dec 14: A Training Programme under Sub Mission on Agriculture Extension (CSS) NMAET concluded at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo Jammu in the presence of the Director of Agriculture, H. K. Razdan.
The Training was organized by Farmers Training Centre Jammu under the supervision of Deputy Director of Agriculture (Trainings), Sunil Koul to create awareness among the farmers about the ongoing farmer's welfare schemes, integrated farming and latest technological innovations in Agriculture. Training is being attended by participants from different districts of Jammu Division.
Speaking on the occasion H. K. Razdan advised the farmers to interact with the scientists and experts to clear their doubts regarding diversified farming for better income and share the knowledge gained during the training with the fellow farmers in their respective areas. He called on farmers to organize themselves in Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmers Interest Groups (FIGs) to avail various benefits and to receive the better remunerative returns of their produce through better marketing management.
Technical session was conducted by the Resource Persons from Agriculture University and the Department of Agriculture. Aman Jyoti Sharma, SMS (SDL) Spoke on Round the year cultivation of Mushroom where as Arun Khajuria highlighted the Importance and Role of Plant Health clinics working in different districts of Jammu division. Dr. Uma Shanker, Dr. Satish Pandita, Dr. Davinder Sharma, Dr. N. P. Thakur covered the variety of topics including Diversified Farming for doubling the farm income, Bee Keeping, Cultivation of Exotic vegetables, Management of insects/pests using IPM in vegetable crops. Visit to Mushroom Demonstration and Training Centre and Protected Vegetable Cultivation Unit at Krishi Bhawan Jammu for practical demonstration to the farmers.
Later on Small Hand Tools Kits were also distributed among the farmers. During interactive session all queries raised by the farmers were satisfactorily answered by the resource persons and experts.
Those present on the occasion include Deputy Director (Central), Jagmohan Bhat, Training Officer FTC, Sarmesh Kumar, Agriculture Information Officer, J. C. Raina and Farm Management Specialist, Deepak Kumar among others.
