DPS Jammu bags first prize in Inter- English Literary Festival

Jammu, Dec 18: To celebrate the wealth of English literature and provide a platform to students to explore first hand, the stars in the literary firmament, The Delhi Public School School Society, New Delhi organized Annual Inter-DPS English Literary Festival-"A Thousand Splendid Suns-2018" on 15th December, 2018. The competition comprised of a tasteful array of online & offsite events and activities to polish the talent of amateur authors, poets, dramatists and artists from classes V upwards. In a national level event which saw enthusiastic participation from all Delhi Public Schools, M.U Harshita (VIII-A) of Delhi Public School, Jammu bagged first position and gold medal in the activity 'Picture Perfect' while Sameer Mandal of class XI-J & Akanksha Gupta of class XI-G won Special Mention Certificates in the activity 'Meme-O-Magic'. The other participants were Manaswin Mahajan (V-E), Khayati Mehar (VIII-F), Tejas Jain (VI-F), Nadia Jarin (VIII-B), Tanisha Katiyal (VIII-G) & Vedant Suri (IX). They participated in 'Behind the mask', 'By Word of mouth', 'Beat the Bard', 'Tete-a-Tete', 'Literary Geek' and 'Enacto Dissendium' and won appreciation and applause for their performance by the jury. The competition was hosted at Delhi Public School, Dwarka, Delhi where Award Ceremony was also held. The team of 9 students was escorted by Rupali Sharma and Shubham Bharti. Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra congratulated the winners and all participants. She also appreciated the efforts of the teachers for guiding the children well. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta also applauded the team.
