| People protest over water scarcity at Upper Uchhad, block road | | | Early Times Report
mendhar, Dec 24: The people from Upper Uchhad in Mendhar sub division of Poonch district and adjoining areas held protest against the PHE authorities for the water scarcity and blocked road for over an hour in Upper Uchhad.
A large number of villagers led by Mohd Arif assembled at Krana Road at around 8 Noon and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against the PHE authorities for their failure to provide adequate supply of water to the area. They alleged that water pipes were broken and not repaired since long and water supply to many localities has been snapped for several weeks.
Later, SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar arrived there and assured the agitating people that their issue of water will be solved within two days. They also held talks with the AEE PHE Mendhar. |
