Jammu, Dec 24: The senior health officials committee constituted by Commissioner Secretary to examine the grievance raised by National Health Mission (NHM) employees during strike, has failed to submit its report on time. Sources informed Early Times that just after the commencement of the financial year, the Minister had directed Commissioner Secretary to Health Department to constitute a committee of senior health officials to address the long pending demands of NHM contractual employees within two months.
"But after lapse of 22 months the committee has not submitted its report which shows nonchalant attitude of the said committee for which it has been establish years back", sources said, adding that however, during announcement of the committee the commissioner secretary had declared the five committee members including Additional Secretary, Health, Secretary Technical and Medical Education, Director Health Services, Jammu, Director Health Services, Kashmir and Mission Director, NHM but after lapse of sufficient time the committee even not hold a single meeting in this regards so far. "The inordinate delay to submit report to Minister concern is doing on part of NHM director who always show reluctance to attend the meeting, called by the committee members, it seems that the mission director indifferent toward their own employees", sources said.
Sources further said that government knows that the employees engaged under NHM scheme is the back bone of health department in state, so that Minister for health took the initiative to redressal their genuine demands but their administration seems not interested. Principal Secretary H&ME department Atul Dulloo, was not available for comments. |
