After losing power Mehbooba turns rebel
Opposes triple talaq, talks about Gandhi's India; forgets she sabotaged separate colonies for KPs

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 1: After visiting the families of militants, former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti has opposed the triple talaq bill passed by the BJP led NDA government.
"Through this triple talaq bill, they (BJP) have entered our homes. It has disturbed our family life and economically the condition of women will worsen," Mehbooba told reporters in Srinagar.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that when BJP introduced the bill in Lok Sabha, Mehbooba did not utter a word as she was sharing power the saffron party. "At that point of time she did not want to annoy the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he added. He said that now Mehbooba is talking about triple talaq and is accusing the BJP of creating "Zia-ul-Haq's Pakistan in Gandhi's India."
"It seems that someone needs to remind Mehbooba Mufti that when she ruled Jammu and Kashmir she tried her level best to protect the separatists, militants and their sympathizers. She ensured that proposal to build separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits is put in the cold storage. She did it to appease the Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani and other Pakistani stooges active in the Valley," the analyst added.
A Kashmir watcher said, "When PDP joined hands with the BJP it did not find any flaws with the saffron party. In fact Mehbooba Mufti missed no opportunity to praise the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the union home minister Rajnath Singh."
He said that after losing power she is leaving no chance to castigate the BJP's central leadership and is finding faults with the BJP led NDA government. "By taking u-turns, Mehbooba Mufti has put her credibility at stake as everyone seems to be mocking at her for changing her stance after being ousted from the office of the Chief Minister."
A politician said that today Mehbooba Mufti is talking about not harassing the militant families but when she was in power she had no guts to speak about how the Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities were harassed by the Pakistan sponsored militants and how the KP community was forced to leave everything behind and run away. "Today she is feeling the pain of the families of militants but she never felt the pain of KP families," the politician added.
An observer said that Mehbooba by returning to militant families wants to "scare" New Delhi. "Her stunts our nothing but a tactic to regain the lost ground and blackmail the central government," he added.
