ECI directs J&K Govt to transfers officers out of home Districts Lok Sabha polls 1/21/2019 10:54:27 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 21: The process of transferring officers/officials of state administration outside their home districts is likely to begin after Republic Day celebrations as the state government has got the directive from the Election Commission of India in this regard in view of the forthcoming general elections. Following the communication from ECI, the state government has directed all the administrative secretaries to transfer the officers and officials of the departments connected with the conduct of ensuing Lok Sabha and Assembly elections particularly District Development Commissioners, Additional District Development Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars and Block Development Officers immediately after the publication of electoral rolls this month. Sources said that according to an order issued from the General Administration Department (GAD) to administrative secretaries of all the departments in compliance to a notification from the Election Commission of India (ECI) has however clarified that transfer of officers shall not apply to officials retiring in next six months but such officers and officials shall not be associated in any way with the election duty. The government of Jammu and Kashmir in its order has directed the concerned administrative secretaries to note that IGPs, DIGs, SSPs, SPs, ASPs, Dy SPs, Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors shall also be transfered under the instructions of the Election Commission of India. The Chief Electoral Officer has been authorized by the Election Commission of India not only to transfer but also take appropriate departmental action against an officer facing specific complaints of political bias or prejudice against any such government officer which on enquiry are substantiated by facts.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
