Awareness-cum-demonstration programme held

JAMMU, Feb 2: One day awareness-cum-demonstration programme held at NCC Camping Ground Nagrota, which was organized by Civil Defence, Jammu with collaboration of SDRF team 2nd Bn Jammu.
The programme held under the directions of V. K. Singh, IPS, DGP, Commandant General Homeguards / Civil Defence and SDRF J&K, Muneer Ahmed Khan, IPS, Additional Director General of Police Homeguard / Civil Defence and SDRF J&K and Vikas Gupta, JKPS, SSP, Incharge DIG HG/CD & SDRF Jammu under the supervision of Dy. SP Shashi Thakur, Dy. Controller Civil Defence, Jammu.
In the awareness camp the NCC cadets were given the knowledge of First Aid, CPR, Chocking, Emergency methods of rescue, fire fighting alongwith demonstration by the Civil Defence Instructors and SDRF Team.
Speaking on the occasion Dy. SP Shashi Thakur, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu, Paramjeet Kumar, Chief Warden, and Thakur Ranjit Singh, Dy. Chief Warden, Civil Defence Jammu have delivered valuable lectures on the topic of Disaster Management and highlighted the role and importance of Civil Defence organization in the community.
Colonel S. K. Bajrania, Camp Commander J&K 2nd Bn NCC Srinagar, highly appreciated the role of Civil Defence and thanked Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu and her team for organizing such important awareness/demonstration programme. They also advised the cadets to become good human beings to serve the society by joining such organization. 150 NCC cadets (Girls & Boys) of Kashmir Province and other Training staff members attended the awareness programme.
