SRINAGAR, Feb 2: At a time when the world famous Dal Lake is dying a slow but 'sure' death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the lake during his visit to the state on Sunday and see for himself the condition of the lake.
It is expected that during his day long visit to Jammu & Kashmir the Prime Minister would receive a brief from the officials with regard to conservation of Dal Lake in Srinagar. Modi's visit to Dal Lake assumes significance since despite spending huge money the condition of the lake has not been improved over the past many decades.
The state government has been receiving huge funds for improving the condition of Dal Lake but there has been no discernible change vis-à-vis condition of the lake. Over the years it has been alleged that money sent for improving the condition of Dal Lake has landed in the pockets of few people and they have made merry out of the same.
