Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 2: Recalling the cowardly surrender of prestigious AIIMS to Kashmir by the BJP in 2015, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister said that it was Panthers Party which initiated the mass movement to restore the premier medical institute back to Jammu. We took intellectuals, social and trade organizations on board and launched a historic agitation from front with zeal and vigour until AIIMS was assured to the region in writing by the GoI, asserted Harsh Dev Singh. He lamented that BJP was now trying to take credit for the prestigious project despite its negative role in the entire episode. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today. Addressing the media, Harsh Dev Singh rebuked the erstwhile BJP-PDP coalition for clandestinely administering a severe discriminatory doze to Jammu region by acquiescing in the transfer of AIIMS to Kashmir. He admonished the Saffron Party for conceding AIIMS to Kashmir that was actually sanctioned for Jammu region just to appease its senior partner PDP at the cost of long cherished dream of the people of Jammu which was promised to them by the successive governments. "Arun Jaitley the then Union Finance Minister in a budget session on 28th Feb 2015 in New Delhi explicitly announced an establishment of AIIMS in Jammu which was duly acknowledged by the Dr. Jitender Singh Union MoS who expressed his gratitude to the Finance Minister for sanctioning the premier health institute for Jammu. This announcement was duly conveyed to the State government and published in the leading dailies of 1st of March 2015. The despicable surrender of prestigious AIIMS to Kashmir overnight by the BJP for satiating its greed of ascending the power throne had hit the soul of Jammu Pradesh like a sudden 'thunderbolt' descending from the blue", Harsh reminisced.
