| GDC organizes awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Feb 5: Career Counseling Cell of the Govt. College for Women Udhampur organized an awareness programme in Economics and General Science.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by chief guest of the occasion alongwith the guest speakers. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Chander Shekhar, Principal Govt. College for Women Udhampur. He extended hearty welcome to the resource persons to have organized such programme which is of immense help for the students as far as choice of career is concerned.
Three faculty members were invited from University of Jammu namely Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Councilor, department of Lifelong Learning, Dr. Shallu Sehgal, Asstt. Prof. department of Economics and Dr. Rupali Fotra, post doc. Fellow, institute of Human Genetics.
All the resource persons highlighted economics and general science as one of those subjects which play pivotal role in choosing different career options and appearing in the various competitive exams as well. They also stressed that present time is the time of open market and being a student of economics may help one to convert different opportunities into success.
The resource persons also exhorted upon that general science is one of the fundamental requirements as far as career options in civil services and allied fields are concerned. |
