Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 5: 71 Girdawars (Revenue Officials) have been elevated as Naib Tehsildar in Kashmir valley, while only 14 in Jammu division by the Revenue Department.
According to the Official, several lower rung officials in FCR's office have manipulated the entire process. "As per Government order FC(A) 13 of 2019, 71 Girdwar from Kashmir division have been made incharge Naib Tehsildar, all these officials were promoted as Girdawar on October 2015", they said and added that their counterpart in Jammu who were promoted as Girdawar, were made to wait for next promotion.
"Even they are junior in case of joining of service, the eligible Girdawar in Jammu division are appointees of 19999, while the vallities, who jumped as NT are appointees 2002", said a Girdawar, whishing not to be named.
He further said that duo the officials in the Office of FCR played 'regionalism', while paving way for their people. However, in another order, 14 Girdawar from Jammu have also been promoted as NT. "But still there are more than 50 Girdawars, including 16 in Rajouri, 14 in Doda and more than 25 in other part of the Jammu Division, who have cleared PSC and eligible for next promotion as per the rules", they said.
However, the Financial Commissioner Revenue, J&K Dr Pawan Kotwal when contacted no discrimination have been metedout to anybody. "Since the Post of Girdwar is divisional level post, the seniority is maintained at same level", he said and added that already there is shortage of Girdwar, if 50 Girdwar, more elevate it would affect routine work.
Sources in Secretariat said that in year 2014, 114 Girdawar were promoted as NT in Jammu while, 57 in valley, in 2017, 51 in Jammu and 36 in valley, in 2019 till date 14 in Jammu and 71 in valley.
