| Public found PHC locked, doctors absent from duties | | |  Tahir Mushtaq

Ramban, Feb 23: Local populace of Chanderkot on Saturday morning found the new type PHC locked and doctors absent from their duties and failed to provide healthcare facilities. The public expressed anger over the situation and alleged that Chanderkot is merely 10 kilometers from district headquarters but doctors seldom reached there.
They further said that the New Type PHC cater the needs of five panchayats, national highway and its importance could not be underestimated but authorities failed to pay any heed.
The people contacted the newly elected Sarpanches, after which the Chief Medical Officer was contacted, after which he reached the spot and interacted with the public.
He informed that due shortage of medical staff and frequent traffic jams, health services remained affected.
CMO Ramban Dr. Saif-ud-Din Khan assured the people that he would write to higher authorities to operate New Type PHC for 24 hours and improve services related to health department.
Sarpanch Chandrakot Ashraf Lone urged the district administration and said that the lives of thousands of people depend on this new type primary health center, Chandrakot, so it should be fully operated so that more medical facilities can be provided to the people. |
