Jammu, Feb 27: Vomedh Rangmanch showcased Hindi play "Mujrim Mae Nahi Par Mujrim Mae Hee Hun" written by our own Rakesh Roshan Bhat , Directed by Rohit Bhat.
The socio cultural values have been treated so well that the audience in hall felt that it was their story that came alive on stage. It is the story of Vinod Kumar son of a widow mother whose husband died at very young age.
Vinod's mother is not educated to work in an office so the only way left for her to take care of Vinod is to work in others houses as a house help. Vinod has to move to green pastures to earn money. He works hard gives his mother a house to live in providing modern facilities but is not with her to take care of her failing health. Although he pays his mother a visit on all occasions whenever a leave is available but his mother is lonely at home.
One fine morning he gets a phone call that his mother is no more. Vinod rushes home to the scene of tragedy his mother had fallen to. He is confronted by a police Inspector whoWants to see guilt on his face to have neglected his mother. Investigations on the dead body had proved it to b a natural death on suffering from low bp and weakness. Inspector Sharma was trying to tell Vinod Kumar that had he been with his mother she would have got the timely help to be alive and not died due to neglect.
Her death came to be known when foul smell was reported by the neighbours and police had to force open the door of her house to find the dead body. Vinod kumar's defiance that he was being intimidated by the police officer as a culprit (mujrim) in his mother's death leads the Inspector Sharma to give up his arguments with Vinod Kumar in disgust and orders that mothers body to be handed over to Vinod Kumar for performing her last Rites. After her cremation vinod kumar realizes that it was due to his neglect that his mother had died. He files a petition in the court of law to be punished for his neglect.
As he feels he is the Culprit (Mujrim). Vinod Kumar wants to convey the message that parents needs caring in their old age. They should not be left alone to die alone. The play unfolds the same sort of happenings in the house of the lawyer who is handling the case of Vinod Kumar. His both children Unnati and Udhai, both married, are working abroad. The drama of seperation and longings of parents to be with their siblings, symathy with each such character leads Judge Tripathi to deal with the situation in unique way of handling the case on humanitarian basis as it is done in "Aap ki Adalat.
"This play needs to be seen , to feel the depth of thought behind It, as was felt by each one present in the audience. They felt it was their own story.
