Properties damaged owing unplanned construction work of GAMMON company

RAMBAN, Mar 2: Owing the unprofessional work of the construction companies engaged in construction of National Project of four laning on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44), people displaced from their houses.
One such glaring example came into limelight when the Maitra-Ramban link road again sunk due to the negligent attitude of GAMMON company in construction of a flyover piller and major cracks have developed on NH44 falling under Raba town.
This disaster does not ends here but many houses including the building in which Jammu and Kashmir Bank is located also witnessed heavy damaged affected the smooth functioning of the bank.
Pertinent to mention here that the companies are working under incompetent engineers and unskilled workers by totally ignoring the hilly topography of the Ramban town.
People alleged that the construction companies destroying their properties for their vested interest and the administration is not taking any action against such companies.
They further alleged that poor skill quality of construction companies has put on stake whole Ramban town which is sinking due to negligence of construction company GAMMON. The ongoing Construction for four laning project is damaging the surrounding areas as well.
People of affected areas blamed that the unplanned execution of NH-44 four laning project by GAMMON from Ramban to Nashri leaded this disaster.
People demanded rehabilitation plan and compensation for affected people of this land sinking areas besides ensuring instant safety measures to protect them.
They warned that if concrete steps will not initiated by the administration as well as construction agencies than they have no option rather than come on roads along with families.
