jammu, Mar 25: With the beginning of electioneering the BJP has pressed all its resources into service to retain three seats which party had won in 2014 Parliamentary elections but some police officers on their directions of their top bosses are busy in schemes to ensure defeat of BJP candidates at any cost.
These top bosses have no love for Congress candidates but they are working as agents of National Conference (NC) because they were protected by NC leadership earlier at crucial time.
Credible sources said that one of the senior top cops of the State, who was involved in police recruitment scam in 1998, was protected by the then NC government headed by Dr Farooq Abdullah so he is still loyal to the NC leadership. "The incumbent senior police officers are working day and night to ensure victory of NC candidates in Kashmir Valley and defeat of BJP candidates in Jammu to create a wave in favour of NC before assembly polls", sources said and added that NC leadership has promised to properly accommodate those officers who are working for the party in Lok Sabha elections.
In 1998, role of some top police officers came under the scanner for irregularities in the recruitment of constables in Anantnag and Pulwama districts of South Kashmir. The said officers, who were heading the recruitment board, was subsequently placed under suspension. But the very next year, in 1999, they were mysteriously reinstated by Farooq Abdullah government. |
