Congress-NC claim of being secular is unrealistic: Brig Gupta
4/14/2019 12:05:15 AM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 13: In a fresh political attack on rival political parties Brig Gupta, State Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party today said that not wanting to remain behind the PDP and NC who are competing with each other to prove whose workers are true Mujahideen, the Congress backed Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has proudly announced prefixing of his name with the word "Mujahid". Not satisfied at that he has urged others also to follow him and start calling themselves Mujahid.
He further stated that since there has been no condemnation from Congress, it is acknowledged that Congress has also joined the band wagon of "Jihadi Election Politics." Accordingly, Vikramaditya Singh, Congress Candidate from Udhampur-Doda is also a Mujahid, since neither he has condemned the NC or PDP nor disowned the statement of Deputy Mayor. "Is this the secular face of Congress and NC, whose leaders are unashamedly seeking votes in the name of 'secular forces'" questioned the spokesperson?
Elaborating further, Brig Gupta said that Congress President Rahul Gandhi, while interacting with Muslim intellectuals had proudly proclaimed that "Yes. Congress is the party of Muslims." Congress leader Sagheer Saeed Khan in a press conference at their party Headquarters at Jammu had talked of 'bringing a law to hang BJP leaders' while in the same breath he had announced 1 crore cash relief and government jobs for the families of terrorists. Exploitation of minorities for their vote bank politics is the hall mark of Congress and their "appeasement policy" of the minorities at the cost of Majority and opposition to Triple Talaq Bill is nothing but communal, stated Brig Gupta.
NC which was formed as a Muslim Conference and all through has promoted only the interest of Kashmiri Muslims including the support of the concept of "Greater Kashmir", division of Jammu province on religious lines, refuses to grant citizenship to Hindu West Pakistan refugees, opposes deportation of Rohangiyas and Bangladesh Muslims, opposes introduction of word 'secular' in the preamble of the State's Constitution and is responsible for mass exodus of Kashmiri Hindus is today singing the chorus of saving nation's secular fabric, accused Brig Gupta.
Reacting to JKPCC President GA Mir's statement that BJP believes in divisive politics, Brig Gupta retorted that no communal riot has taken place in the country during the last five years and compare that with the earlier tenures of Congress and you will get the answer yourself. Why does Congress always seek support of the Church and Shahi Imam and local Imam's who issue directions /fatwas to vote in favour of Congress candidate? Is it inclusive or divisive politics, Mir needs to answer, rued Brig Gupta.
Is it just a coincidence that the linguistic pattern of the Congress, its allies, and its "intellectual" cronies is getting more and more identical -dubbing BJP as communal? "Yes, BJP is communal because it demands respect for our national song, national anthem and national flag without any compromise. It opposes illegal migration of Rohangiyas and Bangladeshis. It opposes terrorism and jihadi politics. It stands like a rock against repeated attempts of the opposition to instigate communal violence," claimed Brig Gupta.
