‘Drunken’ Babu creates nuisance at Civil Secretariat during duty hours
Subordinates threatened to keep mum, otherwise face music
4/14/2019 2:42:01 PM

Jammu, April 13

Making mockery of the State Government headed by the Governor-Satya Pal Malik, a senior Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer at Civil Secretariat Jammu has allegedly created nuisance at his office during working hours.

According to sources within the secretariat, a senior IAS officer was seen under the influence of intoxicants during working hours.

“IAS officer was abusing everyone. He was rude to his subordinates and even during working hours no officer was allowed to meet him,” said sources, adding that all the official engagements in his office had come to standstill on the day.

Sources further asserted that this is normal of the Babu, who always remains under the influence of intoxicants and comes office late everyday.

“However, it was for the first time that officer rose his voice and was too rude with his subordinates,” said sources, adding that he even hurled abuses at his subordinates.

If sources are to be believed, the officer had also threatened his subordinates to maintain silence.

“He had literally threatened his subordinates of dire consequences if they did not maintain silence with this regard,” alleged sources, adding that the officer remained in his office for couple of hours but did not carry any work.

An official working in the same department, wishing anonymity maintained that the officer in question was all furious and out of control for the day.

“He abused, he charged to fight and even was stumbling while walking, which made the atmosphere at office quite disturbing,” said official, adding some of the employees, particularly female staff were seen panicked due to inexplicable behavior of the officer.

He further said that usually the officer comes to office after 2:00 PM, no matter under what condition, but the other day he was in office at 10:15 AM, his eyes were swollen and he was even unable to walk properly.

“He was out of control and all the employees had decided that they would approach the Governor with the complaint,” said official, adding that but unfortunately the Governor was preoccupied.

“Had the complaint reached the Governor office, the IAS officer would have been summoned to the Governor House in such a condition, where he could have hardly justified his position,” said official.

Despite repeated calls, the Chief Secretary of the State-BVR Subrahmanyam could not be contacted.
