'Power intoxicated J&K BJP leaders, they allowed PDP to encourage Pak stooges'

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assertion that terrorism has been contained to two and half districts in Jammu and Kashmir is clear warning to the terrorist sympathizers in the state and their bosses sitting across the Line of Control.
Addressing a poll rally at Amreli in Gujarat, PM Modi said, "In the last five years no bomb blast took place in any other part of the country. We managed to contain terrorism to just two-and-a-half districts in Jammu and Kashmir."
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "The Pulwama attack, which left 40 CRPF jawans martyred in February this year, has made the Government of India change its policy towards terrorists and their sympathizers active in the Valley."
He said that the crackdown on separatists and others has created ripples in their camps. "The investigations carried out by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) have revealed that how these Pakistan stooges present in the Valley filled their coffers to burn Kashmir and spread hatred against the country," he added.
A Kashmir watcher said that separatists have been "cut to size" and they have been told in clear terms that if they want to stay in India they would have to wind up their shops and act as law abiding citizens. "PM Modi led government acting tough against the terrorists and separatists has not gone well with the Kashmir centric parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party, led by Mehbooba Mufti. It was during her tenure as Chief Minister that recruitment in terror outfits increased. She was the one who doubled the incentive for the terrorists, who would surrender their arms. She announced amnesty for 10,000 stone-pelters. She being soft towards the terrorists led to revival of terrorism in the Valley and it started from her own bastion, south Kashmir," he added.
A politician said, "After the 2014 assembly polls were held in the state, some BJP leaders from Jammu and Kashmir misled the party high command in New Delhi for the sake of power. The BJP joining hands with the PDP was a biggest mistake which the BJP committed. After assuming power, BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir forgot about the promises which they had made to people of Jammu and even turned a blind eye towards what PDP was doing in Kashmir. The then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti compelling Centre to announce unilateral ceasefire in holy month of Ramadan last year proved to be the last nail in the coffin of unholy alliance between PDP and BJP in Jammu and Kashmir."
He said that by the time BJP realized that sharing power with PDP was a mistake it was too late. "In 2019 Lok Sabha polls people in Jammu, who voted for BJP, were least interested in who the candidates were. They voted for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is directly handling J&K affairs since the day Mehbooba Mufti has been ousted from power," the politician added.
