| GMC Kathua organizes first CME on cancer awareness, prevention | | |

Kathua, Apr 19: Government Medical College Kathua organized its First CME on Cancer Awareness and Prevention. Speaker of National Repute Dr Abhishek Shankar from AIIMS NEW DELHI was the Resource Person. He gave a detailed presentation on Cancer Awareness and Preventive Strategies. Dr Abhishek also deliberated on various Government Schemes for Cancer Control. He discussed the role of Capacity Building in Cancer Care and need to do Cancer Awareness at Grassroots. The Talk was followed by a lively interactive Session in which newly appointed Faculty enthusiastically interacted with the speaker. Dr Abhishek also offered help in DATA acquisition for research purposes. Dr Shashi Sudhan Principal GMC KATHUA appreciated Dr Abhishek for sparing his time. She stressed upon the necessity of such activities in future also as after the inception of this Institute, activities like this can help the Faculty, Residents and Nursing Staff to stay afresh in pursuing Clinical Knowledge. She stressed upon faculty to work with missionary zeal and deliberated on optimally utilizing limited available resources for providing maximum benefit to patients with human touch. It was also stressed by all the Clinical Heads to Start a Virtual Tumor Board for Cancer patients at Kathua so that Patients Can be benefitted and they may not have to go to other places for treatment. Principal Dr Shashi Sudhan also declared The Editorial Board of GMC Kathua for a period of One Year and ask the Board to Come up with its first news letter titled "Aspire". |
