Doda, Apr 21: Thirty three months on, the problems of the Thatri flood victims have not been addressed. The floods triggered by a cloud burst on June 21, 2016 caused devastation in the area killing around six persons and destroying property worth crores. The floods washed away bridges and footpaths in the area which have not been restored to this day, the locals said. Mohd Salim, a resident of this ward told Early Times: "We are facing many difficulties after flash floods damaged our houses, footpaths and bridges. We requested the authorities to reconstruct the bridge as school children faced difficulties but nobody took cognizance." In winter season the water level of nallah rises and it poses risk to the children,he added. The locals have sought intervention of the higher authorities.
