Jammu, May 7: A special assembly was organized at Delhi Public School Nagbani, Jammu - (West) today in which all the students, teachers, administrative staff and non-teaching staff under the guidance of yoga instructor Vishal Kumar were made to meditate. The art of practicing meditation and spending time in quiet place helps to minimize mental distractions and increase feelings of calm and stability in one's life. Students experience stress too and need to learn ways to manage it and find inner calm. It reduces feelings of stress and anxiety. Meditation and mindfulness are great ways to stay grounded. Children who practice meditation can increase concentration, better focus in studies and the ability to remember more. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the school R. K. Verma said that schools play an important role in nurturing students to grow up into responsible adults and good human beings. The teachers have great responsibility towards the development of students to face the future challenges of life. Meditation can help teachers to be calm and confident in dealing with the students. Meditation is also good for students to get over their stress and enhance their learning experience, he added.
