Sarpanches allege ration scam in Bhunzwah, discrepancies in distribution of MGNREGA payments

kishtwar, May 16: The Sarpanches of block Bhunzwah today called upon the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana and Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwar Anil Kumar Chandail and complaint about prevailing absenteeism culture in the area beside discrepancies in the distribution of MGNREGA payments for the year 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Speaking to "Early Times" Sarpanch Panchayat Mori Molana Mohammad Ali said that the people of Bhunzwah block had yet to receive two month ration and allege mega food scandal in the area beside no Kerosene oil has been provided to the people.
He said that majority of the employees remain absent from their duties while few employees claim harassment from some self styled activist and some locals including some local employees and demanded action against those people who are harassing the employees while at the same time urged upon the DC Kishtwar to ensure that people of the block will get public services at door step. He said that people had yet to receive MGNREGA payments and called upon ACD Kishtwar to get the same released in favour of the job card holders.
They also raise the issue of poor road connectivity, non availability of drinking water, shortage of staff in schools, electricity and many other issues related to public welfare.
Both the officers assured that the issues raised by them will be looked into, particularly about the complaints of blackmailing and harassment of the employees.
