SDPO West holds police -public meeting

JAMMU, May 16: A Police-public meeting was held at Devak community Hall Janipur in which a large number of respectables of Janipur Colony and adjacent areas participated, including corporators of the area, youth and women.
The meeting was chaired by the SDPO West Dr. Amit Sharma -JKPS along with SHO Police Station Janipur inspector Harmohinder Singh. The main aim of the meeting was to interact with the people of the area and sought their cooperation in maintaining peace and public order and better output in prevention and detection of crime to which participants assured full cooperation. Discussions on various issues were held. Some of issues pertaining to Police were drug abuse, traffic jamming & thefts and other crimes. The members also put-forth their genuine grievances pertaining to plying of tractors and trollies leading to disturbance, patrolling by police in the area, availability of pcr vans in some areas espcially during evening hours. They also demanded formation of peace committees in the area to tackle any situation and maintaining communal harmony in the area.
Creation of ward wise committees to curb the menace of drug trafficking. Participants were assured by the SDPO West that their genuine grievances pertaining to police department will be redressed on priority while as those pertaining to the civil administration will be conveyed to the concerned for timely redressal. He also requested people to stay alert and inform police about antisocial elements.

Members thanked SDPO West and SHO Janipur and promised to extend all kind of assistance to Police to curb the social evils.
