Workshop on PM Scholarship Scheme organized

LEH, May 17: A workshop on Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) was today organized in Eliezer Joldan Memorial College which saw participation from a large number of students from various higher secondary schools. Special Secretary Higher Education, Rashid Azam Inqalabi, was special guest on the occasion. During the workshop, detailed presentation was given to the students regarding registration process of PMSSS. An interactive session with the resource persons was also held for parents and students and their queries taken up in detail. Those present on the occasion included Joint Director, School Education, Tashi Dolma, Nodal Officer PMSSS Jammu and Kashmir, Prof Ajit Angral, Deputy Director PMSSS, AICTE, Anand Sharma, CEO School Education, G.L. Atri, Irfan Ali and Tsering Tashi (a volunteer for PMSSS). Principal EJMC, Prof Deskyong Namgyal, Assistant Prof. Phuntsog Angmo (Co-ordinator PMSSS, EJMC-Leh) were also present.
Later, Special Secretary Higher Education interacted with students of EJM College. Students put forth demands including timely conduct of examinations and declaration of results, making math professor available, among others.
The college management also requested for up-gradation of college infrastructure and introduction of new subjects, as the NAAC team is likely to visit the college in the first week of June.
