PMGSY Budgam office operates from Srinagar
Governance at babu's doorstep!

Early Times Report
srinagar, May 17: At a time when Government talks of taking governance to the door steps, there are some officials who don't want to be in touch with masses and aggrieved people and prefer to set up offices in such areas which are not only inaccessible to people but be untraceable as well.
The office of Executive Engineer (XEn) Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) Budgam which is supposed to be located in Budgam district especially near district headquarters is operating from Srinagar district and the reason is only personal comforts of the officials of this department who do not want to travel to Budgam from Srinagar as most of the officials hail from Srinagar.
Details available with Early Times reveal that Executive Engineer (XEn), his engineering staff plus non-technical and clerical staff of PMGSY division Budgam have preferred to operate from a private rented house located at Bagh e Mehtab Srinagar instead of setting up office in Budgam town around the DC office. Reportedly the Xen office PMGSY Budgam was earlier operating from Parraypora locality of Srinagar and the office never operated from Budgam. Sources say that office which is located in Bagh e Mehtab Srinagar has not even a sign board so that aggrieved people visiting this office could identify or trace the office.
"It took me lot of time to locate the office in Bagh e Mehtab area of Srinagar when I happened to visit PMGSY XEn Office Budgam. The office is located on the main road but there is not even a sign board so that people can identify the office. I believe this is done deliberately as the location of office is in Srinagar and the said office actually happens to be the division office of PMGSY Budgam. This is totally confusing andillogical on part of officers of this organisation " said Fayaz Ahmad a resident of Beerwah Budgam
Fayaz told Early Times that people from Khansahib , Khag , Beerwah and other areas where PMGSY is executing several projects are not able to reach Srinagar and find the Xen office Budgam . He said that officers of PMGSY for their own comforts have chosen the location of their office and till date DistrictAdministration or Chief Engineer PMGSY Kashmir have not even raised question about the location of the PMGSY Budgam office.
"It is very much difficult for ordinary people especially the illiterate people to locate the PMGSY office Budgam which operates from Srinagar. We appeal DC Budgam , Chief Engineer PMGSY Kashmir to intervene " Fayaz added
As reported already Doodh Pathri Development Authority (DDA) is also operating its office from Budgam instead of shifting permanently to the new office complex at Tangnad Doodh Pathri where a huge building was set up for more than a 1 crore rupees many years back. The office of Yusmarg Development Authority (YDA) also does not operate from Yusmarg Budgam but was located in Srinagar district until few years back. Right now office is located inn Chararisharief town which is 20 kms away from Yusmarg health resort.
