Early Times Report
POONCH, May 27: Scores of students from education zone Mendhar Monday protested against a government-run school over their alleged denial of admission.
Sources said that at least 67 marticulate students from Government High School Pathanateer have been denied admission at Government Higher Secondary School Chattral for Class 11th.
The students allege that the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Chattral, Ch Mohammad Rashid has been denying their admission despite requests and pleas from last five days. "We have been making continous efforts and requests for last five days but he (Principal) seems in no mode to allow us to take admission in the school, the students said while adding that instead we are being asked to get admission at newly established higher secondary at Gali Kalaban. The said higher secondary is too far for us to attend on a daily basis," the students further said.
When contacted CEO Poonch, Vijay Kumar Bhagat told Early Times that the matter will be looked into and the necessary action initiated after enquiry.
Meanwhile, parents of the agitated students have also requested administration to see the matter and take action for such an unjustified stand taken by the principal. They have every choice to take admission wherever they want to, one of the parent remarked.
The demand of the parents has been echoed by social worker Sayeed Faisal Shah.
