Thankur Randhir Singh to attend conference of CIH at Gurugram 5/30/2019 10:28:30 PM Early Times Report Jammu, May 30: Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh Founder President Aromatic Plants Growers Association of India (APGAI) recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has been invited by the National Horticulture Board (NHB) to attend the a conference of Confederation of Indian Horticulture at Gurugram on 7 June 2019 on issues faced by horticulture farmers and entrepreneurs for the growth of horticulture sector and suggestions for improvement in the NHB's new scheme " Horticulture Business Cluster and Supply Chain development" . Thakur Randhir Singh said that we have already a very strong governing body of APGAI from all over the country beside 29 state units and said that India has a rich heritage of usage of Aromatic -Medicinal plants in Ayurvedic and Unani systems besides may plants from ethnic medicine. India is one of 12 leading biodiversity centres with the presence of over 45000 different plant species. India's diversity is unmatched due to presence of 16 different agro climatic zones , 10 vegetative zones , 15 biotic provinces. Indias' rich flora has thousands of Aromatic-Medicinal plants and there are bout 15000 to 20000 that have good medicinal value. Thus by utilizing its rich heritage , wide diversity in soil and climatic conditions and rich flora and fauna , India is set to become a Rs 50000 crores Aromatic -Herbal market and global supplier of Aromatic Herbal comparing to International standards.
