Sheep husbandry employees hold protest
5/30/2019 10:28:50 PM
Early Times Report
Kishtwar, May 30: All Sheep and Wool Workers Association district unit Kishtwar today staged a protest demanding immediate release of the pending salaries withheld for the past three months post retirement of Dr. Mohd Younes Zargar the then District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kishtwar on 31-03-2019 since the government failed to fill up the post after the retirement of the outgoing District Officer.
Speaking on this occasion, District unit Sheep & Wool Workers Association President Mansoor Ahmed termed it unfortunate that despite assurance from the government as well as by the higher ups, same has not turned into reality as a result of which the employees choose the path of protests which was held within the premises of District Sheep Husbandry Complex Kishtwar with only motivate for immediate release of pay dues.
He further said that ''Right to Wages" is a fundamental rights enshrined by the constitution of India and there are specific mandatory directions contained in the payment of wages Act too but it is unfortunate that the Administrative Department Animal/ Sheep Husbandry J&K has taken no steps to clear the pending salary. He said the authorities of the state government are themselves violating/ impugning the constitutional & statuary guarantees which they supposed to uphold and get implemented. It is sorry to observe that custodians of law have become violators of the fundamental right.
Moreover he made an appeal to the governor administration for peaceful and workable solution to the genuine grievances of the officials of Sheep Husbandry Department Kishtwar so that prominent local/Kishtwar breeders in general and employees of sheep husbandry Kishtwar in particular do not un-necessary suffer due to non-availability of District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kishtwar.
He said that despite Governor's directions to the concerned Advisors during the meeting of the State Administrative Council (SAC) held on 22-05-2019 regarding clearance of wages of casual/daily rated workers and other categories of employees in certain Departments nothing has been done so far on the ground level by Sheep Husbandry Department till date.
