Kishtwar admin launches anti encroachment drive, faces stones in Indra Nagar area

JAMMU, May 30: Kishtwar District Administration today launched a crackdown on encroachers and removed encroachment on state land as well as on Bandoo Bastie Rasta.
As per the details available with Early Times, Pakka and Kacha structures were removed from state land in Indira Nagar area by the team led by Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Kishtwar Javed Khanday, Girdawar Sajjad Ahmed Mughal and Patwar Halqa Matta Satish Kumar while Kishtwar police, Municipality officials were also part of encroachment drive.
The encroachment drive began on Sharae Aam in Ward No. 12 of Kishtwar MC belongs to Retired army captain Karam Chand. The retired army captain and his family accused the revenue officials of not serving any notice prior to the demolition of bathroom and stairs of the house added that same was constructed into their own land.
The Municipality officials present at the spot told the Early Times, that the house is not registered with them. After removing the encroachment in Kishtwar Municipality limits, the team rushed to Indira Nagar area where they carried out the demolition drive on state land. While carrying out the drive, the officials faces stone pelting after they attempted to remove the Pakka structure from the state land encroached by the serving security personnel working in central paramilitary force.
Speaking to Early Times, Tehsildar Kishtwar said that they are going to launch formal complaint against those who pelted stones on the revenue officials. He said that more encroachment drive will be carried out in next one week and advice all the encroachers to remove the encroachment on its own before the Administration act tough against them.
