Accept recommendations of Lavasa Committe, Shastri tells GoI

Jammu, May 31: Expressing deep concern over the delay in accepting the recommendations of Ashok Lavasa Committee report by the Central Government till today, President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri urged upon the Prime Minister's to immediately accept the report of the committee on up gradation of minimum pay scale/pension to Rs.21000/- and fulfill the commitment made to important sector of population i,e Govt. employees and pensioners.
"Ashok Lavasa Committee recommendations are still pending for the past two years and Finance Ministry is sitting on it and ignoring the genuine and pressing problems of Lakhs of ignored employees and pensioners. It is these categories of salaried class who put their trust and voted Modi to power," Shastri said while addressing well attended NMC workers meet here.
Shastri again appealed to Modi led Government at the Centre to sympathetically consider and suitably funds to Jammu and Kashmir Government to bear the expenses arising out of regularization of several thousand daily rated workers working in the various departments of the state Govt. presently manning public utilities.
"This report has already been submitted to the Union Finance Minister by the Ashok Lavasa Committee which was constituted in the wake of implementation of 7th Pay Commission by the Central Government for removal of pay anomalies in pay structure of lower class cadre of both the State and Central Government had not been given any effect," he said.
Shastri appealed to the Governor's administration to ensure timely disbursement of their long pending salaries for year together so that this category of working class in a position to celebrates important upcoming festival of Ed-ul-fiter. He further hoped that state government should also earmark separate wage heads for regularly disbursement of monthly wages of these daily rated workers till their regularization besides removal of all pay anomalies of clerical staff and enhancing medical allowance rupees three per month etc. Among others who were present in the meeting included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Shiv Ram Sharma, Romesh Sharma, Joginder Kumar, Ram Singh, Darshan Bawa,Pawan Kumar, Sardhri Lal and Sudesh Bhagat.
