SOG, Police bust gang of interstate narcotic smugglers, 7 arrested

JAMMU, June 1: SOG Jammu and PS Bahufort bust a gang of interstate Narcotic smugglers, seven arrested, 1650 gm heroin recovered
Based on information developed by SOG Jammu, members of an interstate group of drug smugglers has been busted and peddlers arrested today on June 1, 2019.
A joint team of SOG Jammu led by DySP Iftikhar Chaudhary and a police party from PS Bahufort led by its SHO, Inspector Parvez Sajjad, apprehended a group of interstate drug peddlers who were found in possession of 1650 gm of Heroin like substance, as well as cash amounting to Rs. 2.95 lakh.
The identities of the arrested peddlers has been ascertained as Mohd Iqbal Wani
Son of Wali Mohd Wani resident of ChewaKalan, Pulwama, Nisar Ahmed Genai, son of Abdul Jawar Genai resident of Pulwama, Chewakalan, Ashraf Bhat HC 881355 AP 5th son of Gh Mohi u din Bhat resident of Marhama Sangam, Kulvinder kour wife of Palvinder Singh resident of Pungar Hoshiarpur Punjab, Seema Rani wife of Balvinder Singh resident of Phillaur Jalandhar Punjab, Sanjay kumar son of satpal resident of Anandpur Bishnah Distt Jammu and Rajkumar son of kamal kashore resident of Pathankot chani Punjab.
The aforesaid accused have been arrested, three vehicles in which they were travelling (Jk03D 0496 - swift desire; JK 02BK 7040 - Wagon R; PB07AE 6645 - VW POLO) have been seized and contraband seized.
In relation to this, FIR no 157 /2019 u/s 8/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS BAHUFORT and investigation initiated. For the year 2019 till date, 134 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act, entailing arrest of 205 peddlers.
