Official vehicles for personal use
6/1/2019 11:30:28 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 1: Finally the Registrar Cooperatives Societies has initiated an action against the reports of irregularities by management of Cooperative Marketing Society Kathua (CMSK) and has given 15 days ultimatum to the management.
As per show-cause notice it has been mentioned that the Chairman and Board of Directors have been involved in illegal activities and have purchased luxury vehicle Innova-Crysta for commercial purpose but same was kept by Chairman for personal use.
"A response was sought from Deputy Registar Cooperative Societies Kathua, who had also furnished a report citing a news item of Early Times, indicating irregularities perpetuated by Management", it reads.
But surprisingly, instead of taking action the Deputy Registrar had advised the Chairman on 2nd of May to withdraw the letter for communication for action of truck but there was no mention of the Innova-Crysta vehicle.
Moreover the Deputy Registrar had also directed the Management of Cooperative Society to withdraw the letter regarding auctioning of the shops and on the report of Deputy Registrar the Management was directed to immediately stop/revoke such action on 13/5/2019.
The Deputy Registrar has also reported on 25th of May, 2019 that Chairman has started to fiddle with the concrete shops to pave way for construction of 2nd story of shops for subsequent renting out, due to fact that no permission was sought by Chairman.
The Registrar Cooperatives has called upon the Management/Board of Directors of the Cooperative Marketing Society Kathua as to why action is not initiated against it as per provisions of the Act for persistently acting against the interests of society and its affiliate members?.
The Managing Committee/Board of Directors has been given fifteen days ultimately to furnish their response and if they would fail to give response it would be presumed as they have nothing to say and action would be followed.
