What a raw deal to Jammuites?
6/4/2019 10:57:24 PM
What regional discrimination? While the Jammu region is facing heating wave and the mercury touching 45 C but the Government is supplying 1100 MWs of power on a regular basis to the valley against 95- MWs of power to Jammu. Power supply is needed to keep the temper of people under peace. If the power supply is erratic the PDD is forced to exercise prolonged power cuts which may add to the difficulties of people in the region which is loo infested the blistering heat wave was not enough, the Power Development Department (PDD) is playing a cruel joke on Jammu by curtailing electricity supply to the region. The temperature has reached the 45°C but for the past one week, PDD is supplying 950 MW of power to Jammu on an average while in Kashmir, having relevantly cooler weather, nearly 1,100 MW is being supplied. This has raised questions on the policy adopted by the government for the climatically diverse divisions.
While bureaucracy is enjoying the cool climes of the Valley, unbridled power cuts and night outages are making people across the region suffer. The disparity in power distribution is being overlooked by the administration while the BJP, which is ruling at the Centre and has two Members of Parliament from the Jammu region, has maintained silence extreme weather conditions prevailing," said Mohit Sharma, a resident of Rehari. People who suffer because of power shortages curse the BJP which is in power in the Centre. And during the PDP-BJP coalition Government the region of Jammu was being neglected with the result there were more outages making living difficult in the region.
And the blame for attributed to the BJP which had installed a party leader as Power Minister. And so what if the people of the region have voted in favour of the two BJP candidates it does not mean that voters are satisfied with the BJP. People in the region of Jammu wanted to vote for Modi which they did. And there is no other reason why people voted for the BJP candidates because Modi’s win was treated them essential.
