AHD Kishtwar organises awareness cum blood sampling, fertility camp

KISHTWAR, June 4: Department of Animal Husbandry Kishtwar organised an awareness cum blood sampling and fertility camp under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to SCSP-CSS & FMD-CP IInd Phase the at village Dharbadan, Block Thakrie.
During the camp, more than hundred animal breeders including women participated in the camp and livestock of area especially from SC community was treated for infertility and given free medicines, mineral mixtures, calcium supplements, de-wormers in addition to vaccination and the general treatment. About 60-70 animals were treated for infertility and other health related problems on the spot.
Meanwhile, blood samples were also collected under second round of FMD-CP for sero-surveillance besides free vaccination was also conducted on the spot.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Daljeet Singh Bindra supervised the camp while Dr. Akhter Hussain VAS TU Kishtwar, Dr. Rajan Sharma VAS VD Sigdi along with the staff of the concerned centres were also present on the occasion.
Besides, free of cost medicines were distributed among the people from the SC community to treat infertility as well as to boost the local milk production of their animals.
The officers also raised awareness among the participants about different schemes of the Department like KCC, Livestock Insurance etc.
