While the BJP commits it self to do away with Article 370 &Article 35-A NC wants Assembly poll to be preponed
6/30/2019 11:52:33 PM
While the BJP is for abrogating Article 370, which
grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir within the union of India, the National Conference is interested in regaining power by seeking the Assembly poll rescheduled. Even the Union home minister, Amit Shah, has stated in Lok Sabha that the Article 370 was a temporary measures and the BJP led NDA Government is committed to revoke this Article. Even the 's national general secretary, Ram Madhav has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is committed to repeal the special status to Jammu and Kashmir. As far as 370 is concerned, our ideological commitment is well known. Article 370 has to go lock stock and barrel as the Home Minister (Amit Shah) clearly mentioned yesterday (in Parliament)," He said the article was introduced as a temporary measure and former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru himself wanted it go. Madhav said it may take time since the action involves some procedure. "It requires certain procedures to be followed, at the appropriate time they all will be followed," he said. Against this the National Conference has been trying to make a public issue regarding the BJP's plan to revoke Article 35-A and Article 370. President of the NC and the Vicepresident of the party have challenged the centre to avoid revoking these two articles which may give rise to major conflict and tension. Both Dr farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have voiced concern over the centre's move with the purpose of winning the proposed Assembly elections. The father has promised his son to be the Chief Minister after the father got elected to the Lok Sabha. Hence there is a tif between the BJP and the NC over the NDA's plan. Yes, Kashmir may burn if the BJP revoked either Article 370 or Article 35-A. The people in Kashmir make an issue during the Assembly elections. And the BJP wants to do away with these two Articles thinking that could help the party win the elections. But the BJP may not be able to repeat 2014 figure by winning 25 seats. And the PDP too is against tampering with these two Articles with the purpose of defeating the NC. But the PDP has earned the bad name because of its alliance with the BJP and that took the shape of PDP- BJP coalition Government. Since the valley's voters are against the BJP they have not liked alliance between the BJP and the PDP. These voters are ready to punish the PDP and vote in favour of the NC.
