For last 3 years Govt fails to construct Dangduru -Sarchi road
7/11/2019 11:22:20 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 11: Notwithstanding BJP's claims to link all villages and remote areas through road, the State Government has failed to construct 22km long road from Dangduru to Sarchi Lapora linking Kishtwar with Dachan.
The road on which construction was started in year 2017 after getting Forest and Wild Life Department clearance is going at snail' s pace as out of 22 km only three kms were constructed in last two years.
The road will link about 27 remote villages in Dachan area of Kishtwar with rest of the State but abandoning work on it has become a cause of concern for local residents.
The people of the area alleged that college going students and employees are worst sufferers due to non completion of road by the contractor.
The people said there are many reasons for abandoning of the work as some vested interest don't want it should be constructed as their opponents can take credit for the same.
The people have worked every office demanding the intensification of the road but to no avail.
The problem becomes a nightmare for the locals when they have to shift a critically ill patient or a pregnant lady hospital for treatment. Many times the patients die on way to hospital which are being carried by their relatives on carts.
It takes them over six to eight hours to reach district hospital Kishtwar if patient is taken by foot and some serious patients die on way to hospital but no one in Government to take cognisance and share responsibility.
"The way R&B department is constructing the road it will take two decades in construction of the road'', said Ravi Thakur a local leader.
He said the people were facing many hardships and goods are sold on exorbitant rates in village markets by traders as they make extra charges for head load, he added.
He made an appeal to authorities to resume the construction of the road on war footing basis.
Ram Kumar another social activist of the area said that on one hand Government is claiming to link all remote areas in the country and on the other the remote belt has been totally ignored.
The people in this belt are up in arms as they face shortage of essential commodities due to lack of proper road link.
