Fencing at Suicide point bridge PulDoda starts

Doda, July 11: With an aim to restrict the suicidal incidents in the district and particularly in the aforementioned location, fencing on the side of bridges started at suicide point Pul Doda by 10 RR Army unit Doda.
Few days back, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC Doda with Army officials to provide the necessary support in curbing this issue. Now on Wednesday Army officials have started the necessary protection work on the both sides of bridges at Pul Doda.
Speaking to Early Times, Locals of the Pul Doda and President Chenab Rescue Team Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh said that, Pul Doda who is going to became a suicide point for the public and in last month atleast 6-7 suicide case was reported and from last many years thousands of precious lives end their life by jumping into Chenab river in Doda and Kishtwar particularly young generation included boys and girls. They said the wire fencing will surely help in curbing the suicide and thanks administration and Army unit Doda for this initative.
Ward Members from Pul Doda Zareena Begum applealed to all the women's please away from suicide as the suicide is "Haram" in every religions and a big loss for every family.
A special counselling centre/ helpline has also been established at DC office Doda for required person's wherein any individual can call and can avail the counseling services by the experts accordingly for depression and other cases. The people can call control room on these numbers 9906320997 and a toll free number 18001807122 which will be working for 24 hours.
