Early Times Report

Jammu, July 29: Congress has flared up over controversial remarks made by engineer Rashid against Dogra Shashak Maharaja Hari Singh, the last king of Jammu & Kashmir. Congress workers burnt effigy and protested against engineer Rashid under the leadership of the block president and PCC member Satish Sharma at National Highway in Ganyal on Monday. Satish Sharma said that we will never tolerate humiliation of Dogra Shashak Maharaja Hari Singh. He said that the manner in which engineer Rashid used the language against Maharaja ji shows that the mental balance of Engineer Rashid has worsened, so he cannot be kept out much longer, Governor should put him in jail. He said that leaders like Engineer Rashid are not allowing peace in Kashmir because if Kashmir becomes calm then their political shops will be closed. Satish said that Maharaja Hari Singh was the king of Jammu & Kashmir and Leh and he kept this principality like a bouquet. Satish warned that if the engineer Rashid did not apologize for his statement then we will vehemently protest against him and he will only do politics across the other side of Jawahar tunnel as we will not allow him to come to Jammu.
Satish has also demanded from Governor Satyapal Malik that strict action should be taken against those who try to spoil the atmosphere by giving such statements.
