DDC finalizes I-Day arrangements

DODA, Aug 9: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today finalized the arrangements for smooth and successful conduct of Independence Day celebration, 2019 in the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed, ADC Kishori Lal Sharma, ACR Doda Kaiser A Bhawani, besides other district officers.
It was decided that the main function would be held at Sports Stadium Doda where National Flag will be unfurled, followed by March past by the contingents comprising CRPF, JKP, JKAP, Forest Protection Forces and students.
The DDC directed the officers to ensure adequate security arrangements, parking facilities, invitation and proper seating arrangements at the venue besides ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply. He directed Health department to ensure ambulance and medicare at the venue on rehearsal and Independence day.
It was decided that full dress rehearsal will be held on 13th of August 2019 at 2 pm.
Meanwhile District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today reviewed the arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha in a meeting attended by civil and public functionaries, besides representatives of Beopar Mandal.
DDC directed the concerned officers to conduct regular market checking through the squads constituted for the purpose to keep a vigil over black marketing, profiteering and overcharging during the festival.
He revealed that sufficient mutton, besides live sheep and goats will be made available in the market and asked Tehsildar to ensure that all the items are supplied to the people at the rates fixed by the administration.
