Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 9: Some senior leaders of a newly floated led by bureaucrat-turned-politician, who claims to be the "young voice of the people of Kashmir", have left for "greener pastures" when the valley is reeling under restrictions.
Sources said the leaders from the said party were feeling "bored" in Kashmir, especially in the wake of clampdown on the internet and phone lines.
"He(politician) is so used to social media that he cannot do without his online contacts, especially his friends and thus decided to leave Kashmir to stay in touch with his loved ones," the sources said.
The sources said on August 7 that is two days after curfew was imposed in the valley, the said leader left from Srinagar Airport.
On reaching the destination, the first thing the leader did was to post a message on the Facebook in which he wrote about the problems the people were facing in Kashmir.
He also asked the tourists not to venture into the valley till the situation improves.
But to his utter shock the said politician who had resigned from his government services as an IAS officer and his colleagues were rebuked the netizens for appearing on the social media.
Taking a dig, the social media users said that if such leaders were so concerned about the "hardships being faced by the people in Kashmir, why did they themselves not stay back in Kashmir to face hardships."
"How come are you using internet when the facility is nowhere available in Kashmir or is it that you have left the valley for chitchat online," asked a social media user.
The leader was put to severe humiliation by the netizens who asked "if holidaying away from Kashmir was more important than being with the people in the times of need?"
Sources said atleast three leaders of the party have left Kashmir in the recent past after the curfew was imposed on August 5.
Despite repeated attempts the said leaders couldn't be contacted for comments.
