8/9/2019 10:46:54 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 9: Several Congress leaders have condemned the unlawful and illegal curbs and restrictions on the pro-India main stream leaders of all opposition parties in the entire state and termed the same as totally arbitrary and dictatorial.
In a joint statement several young leaders of the party have questioned the government over the unnecessary restrictions on all senior leaders of all opposition parties including Congress party in Jammu also which is totally un-democratic and arbitrary, as no illegal or unlawful activity has been carried out by the mainstream leaders.
They said dissent is the essence of democracy but BJP Govt. does not want anyone to raise voice against injustice meted to the state, especially Jammu region too for totally abolishing its identity as a state and converting it into UT with Kashmir. People of Jammu are questioning the future of their youth in the new-re-organization but entire communication is stopped and snapped by the Govt.
They said that youth of the state including SC/ST will have to face all India competition with those who have better environment of education and opportunities in rest parts of Country. The small land holders and small business men would be worst sufferers. The common man feels disempowered by the new UT status, they maintained. They said that the continuous imposition of restrictions is an attempt to check and stop those who want to peacefully and democratically raise their voice against the injustice to the state and Jammu by Modi Govt. while abolishing special status and bifurcating and disbanding the state.
The signatories include Narinder Sharma, Pranav Shagotra, Rajiv Saraf, Rajvir Singh, Varun Magotra, Sanjeev Panda, Rashpaul Singh Chib, Neeraj Gupta, Manjeet Jatt, Rajinder Singh Chib, Ram Magotra, Nirdosh Sharma, Sardar H.S. Mehta, Sardar Parvinder Singh, Rajan Sharma, Jung Bahadur and others.
