JAMMU, Aug 31: An Inter House Quiz Competition was organised in Government Higher Secondary School Thial in which three teams, one each selected from ECO House, PEACE House and WISDOM House participated.
The students were asked various questions based on Science, Mathematics, History, Languages, Economics, Current affairs and many more which the teams answered very wisely and intelligently.
The Competition was completed in three rounds and It was a close contest in which the team C from the WISDOM House led by Neha Kesar of 12th class won the first prize getting 165 out of 175 marks.
The Team B from PEACE House led by Ritika with 155 marks and the Team A from ECO House led by Meenakshi Devi with 145marks respectively got the Second and the third place in the competition. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the school, Vijay Kumar Sharma highlighted the importance of co curricular activities in developing the holistic personality of students and exhorted the students to participate in large number in such activities.
The winning team was given prizes on this eve and refreshment was also served to all the students. The programme was conducted by Ashok Sharma and Isha Gupta while Sudesh Kumar acted as scorer and Mohan Lal, as time keeper.
On this occasion all the teachers and the students of the school remained present.
Earlier during the day, the school also organized Parent Teacher Meet in which a large number of parents participated.
They were made aware about the performance of their children in academic and non academic spheres and exhorted to lay more focus on the education of their children. |
