JAMMU, Aug 31: In the much publicized writ petition seeking registration of FIR under Section 124-A RPC (Sedition) against Former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, Patron J&K National Conference and presently Member of Parliament for his pro-freedom speeches, the petitioner a Social Activist of Jammu Sukesh C Khajuria today furnished relevant material in the shape of newspaper clippings and the compact disc containing inflammatory material to AAG Aseem Sawhney for its onward submission to the Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar and SHO Police Station Nageen Srinagar for completion of the preliminary enquiry initiated against the former Chief Minister on the complaint of Khajuria wherein the complainant/petitioner has sought lodging of an FIR under Section 124-A RPC.
On the last date of hearing i.e. August 19, 2019 a Single Judge of the State High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing the matter at length had directed that with a view to cut short the controversy the counsel for the petitioner Khajuria stated that he shall produce the relevant material and hand it over to AAG Aseem Sawhney on the next date in the open court for its onward submission to the SSP Srinagar and SHO P/S Nageen Srinagar.
The petitioner in his petition has stated that on December, 5, 2016 Dr. Farooq Abdullah while addressing a gathering on the occasion of 111th Birth Anniversary of Late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah at Naseem Bagh (Hazratbal) Srinagar made a seditious/ provocative speech in Kashmiri Language and openly sided with separatist organization All Party Hurriyat Conference and extended complete support to them for the so called freedom movement. --(JNF) |
